Welcome!!

I have set this book club blog up to participate in at our own pace. I hope you enjoy this book blog. If all goes well, we'll continue to use this format for our future books. Please read below for the info that Jodi sent out on our end of the read get together:

Book Club Update-
Well, knowing me, you should have known that nothing I do can be low maintenance. Kelli offered her house. Cynthia recommended a Yankee Swap or White Elephant Gift exchange. Next thing you know we are at full fledged holiday party, which I love. But it is not at all what I had intended.
So in order to maintain the integrity of this "low maintenance" club, I am going to stick with the following gameplan. Kelli may still plan a holiday get-together.

TITLE & AUTHOR:     The Shack by William P. Young (248 pages- paperback)
DATE & TIME:     3:30 on Wed., Dec. 17th
LOCATION:         Chili's on Old St. Augustine Rd. (over the hump after the hospital)

But I did agree to let Cynthia set up a blog about the book. Yes, I am a geek. I thought it was a fun idea. You do not have to do the blog if you are not into that sort of thing. There is also a place on the blog where we can begin to plan the next book. Low maintenance =paperback & avg. length
Also maybe I should have sent out a disclaimer that this first book choice has some religious implications. The following is NOT a plot spoiler; it is just a portion from the back of the book.
"Mackenzie Allen Phillip's youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend."
As I mentioned before, low maintenance means no pressure, no stress, no men, and no hurt feelings if you can't attend.  If you are just checking your e-mails after the holidays, you are probably thinking it is too late for this to become low maintenance. But hopefully, once the general logistics are worked out, everything will fall into place.
So here's the dealio-
1. If there is someone else who you would like to invite, please forward this to her.
2. If you are not interested this time but would still like to be included in future invitations, please let me know.
3. If you are simply not interested, don't sweat it. My skin is thick (or is that my skull), no problemo, no skin off my knee, or any other metaphor that will let you know that I am okay with it.
I have heard from the following girlies as being "interested" - Cynthia, Kelli, Terri, & Kelly C. and the following as "maybes"- Lee , Cheryl, Nancy, & Heidi. Let me know what you think.
